# Attachments

## How do I send attachments?

You can attach any kind of document or image you normally would and they will be transmitted to your recipient.

![](/files/-MNS0JCFKhdXwgx3wBHO)

Your recipient will receive the images and attachments as a text.

{% hint style="info" %}
Images (JPEGs, GIFs, and PNGs) will appear in-line, but all other documents (such as PDFs) will be links they can open/download in the browser.
{% endhint %}

## How do I receive attachments?

Your contact can simply send MMS (Multi-Media Messages) with any image or document the phone/carrier allows them to send:

![](/files/-MNS264EkyO4gXJLYI7F)

You'll receive the images or attachments in your email as links and as attachments.

{% hint style="info" %}
The links are never deleted so they can remain accessible as long as you need them.
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="danger" %}
If you have received an attachment that you need deleted, please send a message <help@texts.email> and we'll remove it from our systems, no questions asked.
{% endhint %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.texts.email/emails/how-to-send-a-message/attachments.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
